Rosehip Oil
Rosa Mosqueta (Rosa Affinis Rubiginosa) is a wild shrub in the Rosaceae family, similar to dog-rose in many ways, which grows wild in south-central Chile in a temperate, rainy climate. Its stems and branches are covered in thorns and the flowers are white or pale pink.
This bush flowers from October to December, producing a red fruit with many seeds at its heart.
And the seeds yield a most valuable element: an oil that highlights, in a balanced and elevated way, the simultaneous presence of two polyunsaturated essential fatty acids: 45% linoleic acid (Omega 6) and 35% alpha-linoleic acid (Omega 3), accompanied and protected by a significant concentration of natural antioxidants, tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoids, and many phytosterols. These fatty acids are important components of cell membranes and prostaglandin precursors (made up of hormone-like substances that activate the restoration of membranes).
The valuable properties of Rosa Mosqueta oil contribute to the maintenance of cellular functions and their defence mechanisms, with the result that it encourages regeneration of tissues.
Rosa Mosqueta oil is aesthetically effective in the treatment of:
- scars
- keloids
- stretch marks
- premature ageing of skin tissues
- wrinkle reduction
- age spots
- burns
- sun damage
